Vitae Financial Recruitment Ltd. partners with a fast-growing UK business to appoint an FP&A Manager - Commercial Finance & Strategic Growth in Hemel Hempstead. You will own the group business plan, monthly board reporting and budgeting.

Working directly with the CFO and Executive Team, you will build financial models, support investment appraisal, and develop meaningful commercial insight to drive growth and strategic decision-making.

Qualifications

• Qualified finance professional (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with 3–5+ years PQE.
• Experience developing and maintaining business plans is essential.
• Strong financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting and commercial analysis.
• Excellent commercial acumen and ability to partner with senior stakeholders.
• Hands-on, capable of building structure and improving processes.

Responsibilities

• Own and develop the Group business plan and monthly Board reporting.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and scenario modelling.
• Work with Management Accounting to translate financial data into insights.
• Support investment appraisal, ROI/IRR/MOIC modelling and due diligence.

FP&A Manager - Commercial Finance & Strategic Growth • Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire • £80,000-£85,000 + Bonus + Benefits

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly ambitious, well-funded and rapidly growing UK business at an early and genuinely exciting stage of its development.

With substantial long-term investment behind it, an experienced leadership team and ambitious growth plans, the business is actively investing and acquiring. You'll join at a stage where you can genuinely help shape what comes next.

Working directly with the CFO and Executive Team, you'll get exceptional exposure to investors, acquisitions, investment appraisal, business planning, Board reporting, funding, commercial performance and strategic decision-making. Initially, you'll be the key dedicated FP&A / Commercial Finance resource. You won't simply inherit an established FP&A function and existing way of doing things, you'll help build and develop it.

The Role

This is an unusually broad role. You'll own and continually develop the Group business plan, establish and develop monthly Board reporting, lead budgeting and forecasting and work closely with Management Accounting to turn financial information into meaningful commercial insight.

You'll also get genuine exposure to the investment agenda, assessing potential opportunities, building financial models and scenarios, supporting due diligence and helping integrate investments following completion.

Your remit will include

• Business planning across P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow


• Investment and acquisition appraisal, including ROI, IRR and MOIC modelling


• Board and investor reporting


• Budgeting, forecasting and scenario modelling


• Commercial business partnering and performance analysis


• Capital allocation and investment appraisal


• Cash-flow forecasting, funding requirements and covenant reporting


• Developing KPIs, management information and the future FP&A/reporting environment

There will be significant financial modelling and detailed spreadsheet work, so highly advanced Excel skills are essential. Power BI experience would be a real advantage.

What we're looking for

• We're looking for a high-calibre, academically strong, qualified finance professional (ACA, ACCA or CIMA), likely with around 3-5+ years PQE.


• Previous experience developing and maintaining business plans is essential, alongside strong financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting and commercial analysis experience.


• Just as important will be your commercial acumen, communication skills and ability to business partner. You'll need the confidence to challenge senior stakeholders and go beyond presenting data - getting underneath the numbers, explaining what is driving them, what they mean for the business and what you believe should happen next.


• You'll also need to be comfortable being hands-on. This is a growing business where everything hasn't already been designed and built for you. You'll need to enjoy creating structure, improving processes and getting into the detail yourself.


• Previous acquisition experience would be advantageous but isn't essential. We're more interested in someone with the intellectual curiosity and commercial judgement to understand an opportunity and quickly identify what drives value.
