Job summary

Nodes & Links is a nascent, ambitious deep-tech start-up delivering an AI-first SaaS platform for large projects. We seek an experienced FP&A lead to own budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling across the Group, partnering with senior stakeholders and driving data-driven decisions.

You will build the three-statement model, manage monthly reporting, and align finance with sales data and ARR metrics while pushing automation and process improvements in a dynamic, mission-driven team.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA), or equivalent.
• Substantial FP&A experience, including building a three-statement, driver-based model from scratch.

Responsibilities

• Own the Group budget, reforecasts and long-term plan, challenging assumptions and improving forecast accuracy over time.
• Build and maintain the Group's three-statement financial model covering P&L, balance sheet and cash flow.
• Produce monthly Group performance reporting: actuals against budget, KPIs and cash flow.
• Support the preparation of the Board pack and investor reporting with the Finance Director.
• Act as the bridge between finance and sales, ensuring Salesforce data reconciles to reported ARR.
• Partner with department heads to walk through variances, explain performance drivers and hold budgets to account.
• Provide scenario analysis and commercial modelling to support strategic decisions.
• Work closely with the Finance Director and Group Finance Manager to keep financial reporting accurate and consistent.
• Drive process improvement and automation across FP&A and reporting.

What will you do in the role?

We're looking for someone who owns the model, challenges it, and turns it into the tool the leadership team uses to make decisions.

We're growing quickly, and this is the first dedicated FP&A hire in the business. You'll shape the function rather than inherit it.

• Own the Group budget, reforecasts and long-term plan, challenging assumptions and improving forecast accuracy over time.
• Build and maintain the Group's three-statement financial model covering P&L, balance sheet and cash flow.
• Produce monthly Group performance reporting: actuals against budget, KPIs and cash flow.

Who you are

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA), or equivalent
• Substantial FP&A experience, including building a three-statement, driver-based model from scratch, not just maintaining one someone else built.
• Experience owning a full budget cycle with department heads, including challenging conversations.
• Advanced financial modelling and Excel skills
• Strong on cash flow and the KPIs that drive a business.
• The confidence to challenge senior stakeholders and give clear commercial insight.
• Comfortable working in a group structure with multiple currencies.
• Embrace the use of AI.

We would love if you have

• SaaS experience and fluency in subscription metrics (ARR, churn, net revenue retention).
• Experience at Series B or similar scale, where the model has to be built rather than inherited.
• Experience working with Salesforce or other CRM data.
