Job summary

Core3 is seeking an FP&A Director for a 12-month fixed-term contract in Central London with hybrid working and occasional travel to London. The role reports to the CFO and will shape the commercial direction as the business scales.

You'll lead FP&A evolution, own the operating plan and long-range planning, and develop sophisticated SaaS revenue models. You will provide board-level insights and drive strategic financial decisions.

Qualifications

• ACA qualified, Big Four or Top 10 trained.
• Leadership experience in FP&A or Commercial Finance.
• Experience in SaaS/ARR-driven technology businesses.
• Deep understanding of SaaS metrics (ARR, MRR, churn, NRR).
• Strong commercial modelling and strategic finance capability.
• Experience presenting to executive leadership, boards and investors.
• Track record of building or transforming FP&A functions in high-growth, investor-backed firms.
• Available immediately or on short notice.

Responsibilities

• Lead evolution of FP&A with planning, forecasting, and reporting.
• Own annual operating plan, rolling forecasts and long-range planning.
• Develop SaaS revenue models (ARR, MRR, churn, retention).
• Partner with the exec team to challenge performance and growth initiatives.
• Produce board-level reporting and investor packs.
• Build scenario modelling around pricing, acquisition, profitability and expansion.
• Improve forecasting accuracy through automation and data utilisation.
• Act as the commercial finance lead with Sales, CS, Product and Ops.
• Support strategic initiatives including fundraising, M&A and partnerships.

We're partnering with a PE-backed SaaS business with revenues of c.£90m that's looking to appoint an experienced FP&A Director on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

Reporting directly to the CFO, you'll play a key role in shaping the commercial direction of the business as it enters its next phase of growth. This is an opportunity to modernise the FP&A function, elevate the quality of commercial insight and build a finance capability that genuinely influences strategic decision-making across the organisation.

Working alongside a highly respected CFO with significant board-level ownership, you'll have real visibility, autonomy and influence from day one.

What you’ll be doing:

• Leading the evolution of the FP&A function, embedding best-in-class planning, forecasting and commercial reporting.
• Owning the annual operating plan, rolling forecasts and long-range strategic planning process.
• Developing sophisticated SaaS revenue models, including ARR, MRR, churn, retention, customer cohorts and revenue forecasting.
• Partnering with the executive team to challenge commercial performance, investment decisions and growth initiatives through robust financial analysis.
• Producing board-level reporting, investor packs and strategic insight for the leadership team and shareholders.
• Building scenario modelling around pricing, customer acquisition, profitability, international expansion and capital allocation.
• Improving forecasting accuracy through automation, better data utilisation and scalable FP&A processes.
• Acting as the commercial finance lead across the business, partnering with Sales, Customer Success, Product and Operations to improve performance and decision-making.
• Supporting strategic initiatives including fundraising, M&A, strategic partnerships and value creation projects where required.

What we’re looking for:

• ACA qualified, ideally Big Four or Top 10 trained.
• Significant leadership experience within FP&A or Commercial Finance.
• Strong experience within a SaaS, software or ARR-driven technology business.
• Deep understanding of SaaS metrics including ARR, MRR, churn, NRR, gross margin and customer economics.
• Outstanding commercial modelling and strategic finance capability.
• Experience presenting to executive leadership, boards and investors.
• A track record of building or transforming FP&A functions within high-growth, investor-backed businesses.
• Available immediately or at short notice.
