Working with group and business finance teams, the purpose of the FP&A Associate role is to contribute to the accurate and timely reporting of actual cash performance, cash budgets and cash forecasts, alongside in-depth analysis of insight-driven commentary.
Key Role Accountabilities :
- Take active part in preparing the group’s monthly management cash flow, including understanding differences to the statutory cash flow
- Work alongside businesses to understand and challenge cash performance, including the drivers of working capital movements and variances to budget and prior year
- Prepare in-depth analyses of particular cash flow items or particular business units
- Liaise with businesses and group treasury to prepare a weekly rolling short-term cash forecast for the Group
- Review and challenge cash budgets and quarterly re-forecasts
- Prepare ad-hoc cash forecasts and historic reporting analyses for investors and / or management
- Assist in preparing a quarterly going concern analysis
- Monitor the M&A pipeline and understand the cash requirements / implications on the forecast
- Understand and monitor cash flows relating to the group’s external debt and intra-group debt (as well as trading intercompany)
Qualifications & Experience :
- Experience within Top 10 Accounting Practices, Audit or Deals
- Experience of working in the Financial Services industry

- Good analytical and modelling skills
- Strong accounting skills with a good understanding of how transactions flow through the ledgers
- Good communication, presentation and influencing skills
- Clear thinker with the ability to present simple analysis from complex data
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage to tight deadlines
- High degree of integrity and credibility with management
- Strong attention to detail
- Self-starter with a strong sense of urgency and follow up
