As a fintech provider, Mukuru has underpinned its successful customer engagement strategy with the ability to ‘speak the language' of its users and gain grassroots understanding of the unique pain points customers face in each market.

Duties and Responsibilities (Includes but are not limited to):

  • Financial reporting: Play a key role in the production and improvement of critical reporting packs, including board and investor decks, weekly trading updates, and management documents.
  • Financial planning: Continuously improve group budget and reforecast models, ensuring robust planning across P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and key KPIs as the business grows.
  • Process improvement: Work closely with the Finance team and senior stakeholders to identify areas to improve efficiency in the business' reporting and planning processes.
  • Understanding business drivers: Develop a deep understanding of Mukuru's operating model to ensure forecasting tools capture key value drivers and evolve with the business.
  • Generating insights: Provide budget holders with performance analysis and reporting to support decision making.
  • Identifying business-critical issues: Ensure key risks and opportunities are identified early and escalated to drive timely management action.
  • Leveraging data: Partner with BI teams to ensure financial dashboards and reports provide a clear, data-driven view of business performance.
  • Supporting strategic projects: Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and scenario modelling for key business initiatives.

Key Requirements:

  • Strong financial modelling capabilities, consistently able to deliver high-quality, accurate and KPI-driven models to forecast and track business performance.
  • Highly resilient with an ability to manage workload and competing priorities.
  • Qualified accountant preferred, but not essential, (CIMA or ACA preferred) with an exceptional academic profile and demonstrable experience of modelling and forecasting.
  • Strong analytical skills and an ability to distil key messages and make recommendations from complex data.
  • Experience of partnering with BI teams and using large data sets to create insights and recommendations preferred.
  • Relevant industry experience from a customer and technology focussed business preferred, but not essential.
  • Broad exposure to the finance function with experience of analysing balance sheet, P&L, and cash flow.
  • Experience of working across multiple international markets and currencies.
  • Able to build and maintain productive cross-functional relationships.
