About Our Client

Michael Page is partnering with a leading, well-renowned bank based in the City of London to recruit an experienced FP&A Analyst for an interim maternity cover contract.

This opportunity offers an immediate start and valuable exposure within the Financial Services industry, particularly in the Banking sector.

The role is based in the City, providing excellent transport links and accessibility, and includes hybrid working (2 days from home per week). Our client is highly respected in the market, making this an ideal opportunity for a candidate with relevant experience seeking a high-profile interim position.

Job Description

As FP&A Analyst, your key responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:

  • Support the creation and refinement of financial reports used by senior leadership and department heads across the London office.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of key monthly financial summaries and reports, including performance dashboards for senior committees.
  • Deliver analysis on capital markets results and offer performance insights through detailed monthly reporting.
  • Provide regular cost analysis and insights to support leadership decision-making.
  • Monitor workforce data (including contractors and permanent staff) across UK and Ireland to better assess cost trends.
  • Create monthly cost reports for business units and support functions, highlighting key variances.
  • Collaborate with department leads to prepare quarterly and annual budget forecasts for front-office and support teams.
  • Support month-end processes by maintaining accruals/prepayment schedules and posting relevant journal entries.
  • Conduct detailed monthly reviews of expenses across the UK and Ireland, ensuring accuracy before close.
  • Promote effective cost control practices and identify potential savings opportunities.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business to support financial planning and operational efficiency.

The Successful Applicant

Needed to apply for the role:

  • You'll need to be a member of a recognised professional accounting body. (ACCA, CIMA, ACA)
  • Solid experience working in a wholesale banking environment and a good understanding of financial products is important.
  • It's key that you're comfortable working with Business Heads and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong Excel and Access skills are a must.
  • Experience with systems like PeopleSoft and Essbase would be a real bonus.
  • You should have great communication skills - both written and verbal.
  • Good time management and the ability to work on your own as well as part of a wider team are also important.
