Job summary

Sharp Consultancy partners with a housing organisation to recruit a CIMA/ACCA/ACA Part-Qualified FP&A Analyst. You will support strategic decision-making through insightful financial analysis, forecasting, reporting and business partnering across the organisation.

Reporting to the FP&A Manager, you will contribute to budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, cash flow forecasting and development of financial models to support housing operations, asset management and corporate functions.

Qualifications

  • Studying towards or commencing CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualification preferred.
  • Experience in FP&A, management accounting, financial analysis or commercial finance beneficial.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Produce monthly management information packs with detailed financial analysis for senior leadership.
  • Assist in budgeting, rolling forecasts and long-term business plans.
  • Perform variance analysis against budget, forecast and prior year.
  • Build and maintain financial models to support planning and development programmes.
  • Analyse KPIs relating to rental income, service charges, arrears and operational performance.
  • Support cash flow forecasting, treasury reporting and liquidity analysis.
  • Contribute to continuous improvements in reporting processes and controls.

Job description

This is an excellent opportunity for a CIMA, ACCA or ACA Part-Qualified FP&A Analyst to join a reputable and growing housing organisation. Working within a high-performing finance team, you will play a key role in supporting strategic decision-making through insightful financial analysis, forecasting, reporting, and business partnering across the organisation.

Reporting to the FP&A Manager, you will provide financial support across housing operations, development projects, asset management and corporate functions, helping to ensure the organisation delivers high-quality housing services whilst maintaining strong financial performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Producing monthly management information packs, including detailed financial analysis and performance commentary for senior leadership teams and budget holders.
  • Supporting the preparation of annual budgets, rolling forecasts and long-term business plans, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Delivering detailed variance analysis against budget, forecast and prior year performance, identifying key drivers, risks and opportunities.
  • Building and maintaining financial models to support business planning, investment decisions and housing development programmes.
  • Analysing key performance indicators relating to rental income, service charges, arrears, repairs and maintenance expenditure, development schemes and operational performance.
  • Supporting the monitoring and reporting of development projects, including cost forecasting, funding streams and project viability.
  • Producing KPI dashboards and performance reporting to support operational and strategic decision-making across housing and corporate services.
  • Partnering with stakeholders across housing operations, property services, development and asset management functions to provide financial insight and challenge where appropriate.
  • Supporting the month-end reporting process and ensuring the timely and accurate production of financial information.
  • Assisting with cash flow forecasting, treasury reporting and liquidity analysis.
  • Carrying out scenario planning and sensitivity analysis to support business planning and regulatory requirements.
  • Supporting the preparation of business cases for capital investment, property acquisitions, development schemes and service improvement initiatives.
  • Contributing to continuous improvements in reporting processes, systems and financial controls.
  • Providing ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Ensuring the accuracy, integrity and consistency of financial data across reporting models, systems and management information.
  • Supporting wider FP&A and transformation projects aimed at enhancing organisational performance and financial planning capabilities.

This role offers excellent exposure across financial planning, business partnering and commercial finance within the housing sector. You will gain valuable experience supporting a diverse range of operational and strategic initiatives, including housing services, asset management and development programmes, whilst benefiting from genuine opportunities for professional development and career progression

Ideally you will be either studying towards or looking to commence a CIMA or ACCA qualification. And you will ideally have experience within FP&A, Management Accounting, Financial Analysis, Commercial Finance or a similar finance role.

Ideally you will possess strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to communicate financial information effectively to both finance and non-finance stakeholders. Experience using advanced Excel and financial planning or reporting systems would be highly beneficial.
