Overview
Are you ready to join a team that is pushing the boundaries of manufacturing research? The University of Sheffield’s Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) is seeking an ambitious and enthusiastic Foundry Operative to join our world-class AMRC Casting Group. This role offers an outstanding opportunity to be a part of a team that is making a significant impact on the global castings industry.
The AMRC Castings Group is a leader in advancing casting technologies and techniques. Our team provides advanced casting expertise, including computer process modelling, design for casting manufacture, and rapid low-volume manufacture of precision castings. We work collaboratively to meet industry needs, increase performance, reduce costs, and eliminating material waste. We are committed to supporting professional development and advancing gender equality in engineering.
Main duties and responsibilities
As a Foundry Operative, you will play a vital role in supporting our advanced manufacturing processes. Your responsibilities will include:

Grade: 5
Salary: £26,942 to £30,805 per annum pro rata. Potential to progress to £33,482 per annum through sustained exceptional contribution.
