YOUR ROLE

Build from the ground up

Health insights app

Help build our core health insights web application

While building the MVP, keep an eye on what this needs to be at scale

AI/ML integration

Helped by advisors, design and implement our AI architecture, focusing on practical applications of LLMs and computer vision for medical images

Security & compliance

Establish robust security practices and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations from day one

Build the authoring tools for our doctors and other healthcare professionals

Work closely with product and healthcare teams to translate complex requirements into elegant solutions

Your role

At Ahead Health, we're building Europe’s leading preventative healthcare platform. Our mission is to bring the personalized, concierge healthcare of the top-0,1% to the rest of us. With AI, of course. As our Founding Software Engineer, you’ll bring this to live with an experienced, technical, and mission-driven founding team out of Google, Oxford, Kaia Health, and more.

You’ll be instrumental in building a secure, scalable, and exciting product from (almost) the ground up. We’re looking for someone who loves building for impact, thrives in ambiguity, defaults to quick iterations, and cares about all the little big details that make a user experience remarkable.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain our infrastructure with high standards for privacy and performance

Further automate our data processing pipeline, including building out our AI operations

Build beautiful interfaces that simplify multi-modal medical data into actionable insights

Ship fast and iterate quickly, working directly with our team (incl. CTO, CPO, designer) and users

Ensure adherence to healthcare security and data privacy standards

Write clean, well-documented, and testable code

Help define our development processes and engineering culture

Requirements

8+ years of experience with software development in one or more typed programming languages

Consumer(-grade) front-end skills in React, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS

You (know when to) use AI to superpower your coding velocity

Experience working with cloud (GCP preferred), RESTful APIs, and secure data handling

Familiarity with privacy-focused, regulated environments like healthcare or fintech

You've done something in your technical career that stands out, whether it's starting your own company, getting into an amazing university, or launching something that blew up on the interwebs

Preferred

Hands-on experience with Terraform, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, and event-driven architectures

Proficiency in Python and knowledge of medical data formats (e.g., FHIR, DICOM, NIfTI)

Experience in a fast-paced startup and/or 0-to-1 product development

Background in CI/CD, automated testing, and integrating edge devices

Soft Skills

Detail-oriented and quality-driven, especially in high-trust domains like healthcare

Strong communicator with a collaborative, pragmatic, and solutions-first mindset
