C&D Talent Advisory partners with a seed-stage enterprise AI startup to hire a Founding Engineer for Infrastructure & Platform in London. This on-site, full-time role invites you to own core backend services and the cloud foundations they run on, shaping security, reliability, and enterprise-grade trust from day one.

You'll design multi-tenant infrastructure, implement Terraform, CI/CD, and observability, and collaborate closely with leadership on technical direction while moving fast with high

Qualifications

• 6+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Proven infrastructure ownership in production environments.
• Experience with a backend language; TypeScript/Node.js preferred.
• Production Terraform experience required.
• Strong CI/CD and cloud infrastructure skills.
• Solid security and compliance foundations (SOC 2 / ISO 27001).

Responsibilities

• Build and own backend services across the platform.
• Develop APIs, asynchronous workflows, and core data models.
• Design and maintain cloud infrastructure foundations.
• Own Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Design secure multi-tenant isolation across compute, data, and network layers.
• Own deployment pipelines and observability systems.
• Establish production on-call practices.
• Collaborate with leadership on technical direction.
