Job summary

C&D Talent Advisory is seeking a Founding Engineer for Infrastructure & Platform in London. You will own backend services, cloud foundations, and compliance-ready infrastructure within a seed-stage, high-growth startup environment.

Responsibilities include designing secure multi-tenant systems, building CI/CD pipelines, and enabling long-running AI workloads, with autonomy and direct leadership collaboration.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of backend engineering experience in production systems.
• Significant ownership of infrastructure in live environments.
• Proficient with a backend language and production-grade TS/Node.js.
• Experience with Terraform and CI/CD in cloud deployments.
• Familiarity with containerized workloads and cloud platforms.
• Solid security fundamentals and IAM/access-control knowledge.
• Awareness of software supply-chain security and compliance controls.

Responsibilities

• Build and own backend services across the platform.
• Develop APIs, asynchronous workflows, and core data models.
• Design and maintain cloud infrastructure foundations.
• Own Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Design secure multi-tenant isolation across compute, data, and network layers.
• Own deployment pipelines and CI/CD infrastructure.
• Build and maintain observability systems.
• Establish and improve production on-call practices.
• Develop infrastructure for long-running AI agent workloads.
• Build systems for large-scale document processing.
• Design secure execution environments for AI tools and agents.
• Automate compliance evidence collection and SOC 2/ISO 27001 alignment.
