Job summary

Few&Far in London is seeking a founding Full-Stack AI Engineer to help build the architecture, product, and engineering culture from the ground up.

You will work across backend, frontend, infrastructure, and AI; own features end-to-end, from design to deployment, and shape engineering practices as one of the first hires in a fast-growing startup.

Qualifications

Founding Full-Stack AI Engineer | AI Startup | London | Backed by a top-tier US VC

Hybrid in their new London Office.

Up to £130k + Equity

I'm working with a stealth-mode AI startup building AI agents for complex, real-world operations, systems that don't just answer questions but actually learn how people work and get things done.

Founded by AI and operations experts with backgrounds spanning top US universities, Tesla, and Bosch, and backed by one of Silicon Valley's leading venture funds, they're now hiring their first Founding Full-Stack Engineer in London.

The role

You won't inherit a finished product or a fixed stack. You'll help build the architecture, the product, and the engineering culture from the ground up, working across backend, frontend, infrastructure, and AI.

What you'll be doing

• Building the backend services, APIs, and data models that let AI agents operate reliably in production
• Working hands-on with LLMs, agents, tool calling, RAG, and multimodal AI
• Owning features end-to-end, from architecture through to deployment and monitoring
• Helping define technical standards and engineering practices as one of the earliest hires

What they're looking for

• 3-5+ years of software engineering experience, with strong full-stack skills and particular depth in backend engineering
• Solid experience with APIs, Postgres, system design, distributed systems, and production reliability
• Comfortable with TypeScript/Node.js and React (Python or Go backgrounds also welcome)
• Genuine curiosity about AI and a fast learning curve, prior AI experience is a bonus, not a requirement
• Comfortable owning infrastructure: cloud, CI/CD, Docker, monitoring

Nice to have: early-stage startup experience, 0 1 product experience, workflow orchestration tools (e.g. Temporal), or ambitious side projects.
