Job summary

Cross Border Talents is seeking a Founding Engineer for Agent Systems in London, joining a seed-stage startup building AI-native risk infrastructure for regulated enterprises.

You will own the agent platform, design multi-step workflows, and implement reliability, evaluation, and security layers around frontier LLMs, with on-site-first collaboration at King's Cross.

This role offers significant ownership, EMI-eligible equity, and the chance to shape production AI systems from an early stage.

Qualifications

• Proven backend engineering experience with production systems.
• Experience shipping production LLM-powered features is a plus.
• Strong TypeScript/Node.js skills.
• Experience with agent frameworks and multi-step orchestration.
• Understanding of AI reliability, evaluation, and security.

Responsibilities

• Own the core agent orchestration platform and multi-step workflows.
• Build context management, sandboxing, and tool-calling systems.
• Develop AI-quality infrastructure, retries, fallbacks, and idempotency.
• Define production standards for when AI features ship.
• Evaluate model performance across upgrades and provider changes.
