Job summary

Founding Engineer, Agent Systems in London is seeking an engineer to own the agent platform, design multi-step workflows, and build reliability layers around frontier LLMs in a seed-stage, high-growth startup.

You will ship production AI features, set engineering standards, and collaborate with founders to deliver seven-figure revenue contracts. Strong backend, TypeScript/Node.js, and async systems experience are essential for ownership and rapid impact.

Qualifications

• Strong professional backend engineering background.
• 2+ years shipping production LLM-powered features.
• Experience with customer-facing production AI systems.
• Hands-on with agent frameworks and tool calling.
• Production AI evaluations, data curation, and regression testing.
• Understanding of LLM-as-judge approaches and failure modes.
• Autonomy and ownership across product-to-production lifecycles.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve the core agent orchestration platform.
• Design multi-step agent workflows and tool-calling systems.
• Develop context-management and agent-scaffolding infrastructure.
• Implement prompt-injection defenses and agent-security controls.
• Create production evaluation frameworks for high-stakes outputs.
• Own retries, fallbacks, and circuit-breaker mechanisms.
• Define internal standards for production AI quality and reliability.
