Job summary

Pulse Group is seeking a senior backend engineer in London to join an AI-native startup, building the backend infrastructure behind a next-generation product. You will work hands-on alongside the CTO to own features from concept to production, shaping scalable systems in a highly autonomous role.

The role combines hands-on coding with system design, cloud-native delivery (GCP), and integration of LLMs. The position is based in London with a 4 days onsite / 1 day WFH hybrid arrangement, offering

They’re creating a proactive AI Lifestyle Operating System for some of the world’s highest-performing founders, athletes and creatives, using AI to actually advise, execute and manage across travel, dining, wellness, experiences and more.

The business has already raised $12m from an impressive group of investors and is now expanding its founding engineering team.

This is a genuinely hands-on, high-ownership position working directly alongside the CTO, building the backend infrastructure behind the product and taking features all the way from idea to production.

What we’re looking for:

• 5+ years building production backend systems
• Strong SQL and PostgreSQL knowledge
• Experience with background processing, ideally Celery
• Hands-on experience with LLMs or AI infrastructure
• Cloud-native production experience, ideally GCP
• Exposure to RAG, agent-based systems or orchestration is a big plus
• Someone who enjoys ownership, solving difficult engineering problems and shipping
