We’re looking for a talented and passionate Backend Engineer to join our founding team. In this equity-based role, you will work closely with the founders to build, refine, and scale our mobile application. As an early-stage startup, your contribution will directly impact the future of the company and its product.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is excited about taking on ownership, solving challenging problems, and building something truly special. You will be compensated with equity and will be eligible for a bonus once we successfully raise our first round of funding.

Tasks

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and secure RESTful APIs using Node.js (Express/Nest.js).
• Integrate and optimize data storage solutions using SQL (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and MongoDB.
• Implement AWS Lambda functions for serverless computing tasks.
• Manage CI/CD pipelines and deployments using AWS CodeDeploy, CodePipeline, or similar tools.
• Write reusable, testable, and efficient code, following best practices.
• Collaborate closely with frontend developers, product managers, and QA teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Perform code reviews, troubleshoot, debug applications, and improve performance.
• Ensure application security and data protection measures are in place.
• Contribute to system architecture and technical documentation.
• Understanding of authentication/authorization protocols (JWT, OAuth2).

Requirements

• Minimum 2+ years of professional experience working with Node.js in a production environment.
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design principles and microservices architecture.
• Proficiency in SQL databases (like MySQL or PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (especially MongoDB).
• Experience in AWS services, including Lambda, S3, API Gateway, and CodeDeploy.
• Hands-on experience with version control tools such as Git.
• Familiarity with containerized environments (Docker) and serverless framework is a plus.
• Good knowledge of unit testing frameworks like Jest, Mocha, or similar.
• Familiarity with GraphQL.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Exposure to monitoring tools like CloudWatch, Sentry, or Datadog.
• Experience with logging and performance tuning.
