BrighterBox, a London-based platform to discover culture and events, is seeking its first employee to work directly with the founder and help develop the business. The role is broad, spanning creative, commercial and practical challenges as the company grows from London to other major cities.
As Founder Associate, you will shape product development, audience growth and partnerships, using AI and digital tools to improve processes and outputs.
This platform is a new way to discover what's happening in the world's great cities.
Starting with London, the platform brings together cultural events and experiences in one place, making it easier to discover what's going on across music, theatre, art, exhibitions, talks, performances and more.
The business has been founded by an experienced entrepreneur best known for founding a well-known, long-running independent restaurant guide.
With the initial platform now built, they are looking for the first person to join the business and help develop and grow it. London is the starting point, with plans to expand the concept into other major cities.
This is an opportunity to join a business at a very early stage as employee number one, working directly alongside the founder and getting involved in almost every aspect of developing the company.
As Founder Associate, you'll help shape how the platform develops, how it reaches new audiences and how it expands beyond London. It's a broad role for someone who is tech savvy, full of ideas and comfortable moving between creative, commercial and practical problems.
One day you might be thinking about how to improve the user experience or attract more people to the platform; another you could be researching a new city, developing content, exploring a partnership or using AI to find a faster and better way of doing something.
There won't always be a playbook. You'll need to be comfortable working closely with the founder when required, but equally capable of taking an idea or problem away and cracking on with it independently.
You’ll likely get involved in:
The scope of the role will evolve considerably as the company grows.
We're looking for someone at the beginning of their career who is bright, curious, tech savvy and highly capable.
You might have previously considered a career in publishing, media or the arts, but be attracted by the opportunity to work in something more entrepreneurial and technology-led. You'll have a genuine interest in what's happening culturally and enjoy discovering new music, exhibitions, performances, events or ideas.
You’ll ideally have:
This isn't a conventional graduate role with a narrowly defined set of responsibilities.
You'll be joining at the point where there's already a product and a clear ambition, but a huge amount still to build. As the first hire, you'll have genuine influence over how the platform develops and the opportunity for your role and responsibilities to grow significantly with the business.
You'll work directly with an experienced entrepreneur and get first-hand exposure to building and scaling a company. For someone interested in technology, media, publishing and culture, it's an opportunity to work at the intersection of all four and help create a modern platform for discovering the best of a city.
