Job Description:

At Nescot, we are recruiting an enthusiastic, dynamic, and flexible individual to join our Foundation Learning team as a Tutor Demonstrator in Construction, Groundwork, and Horticulture. You will support our construction and groundwork teachers and learners across Entry Level 1, 2, 3, and Level 1.

This role offers full-time and part-time options, working during term time only (38 weeks per year).

What we are looking for:
  • Knowledge of multi-skill construction trades, groundwork, and horticulture with practical skills in these areas.
  • A relevant vocational qualification, industry experience, or a background in a related trade or land-based sector.
  • Experience maintaining horticulture and construction areas.
  • Experience working within a team.
  • A passion for working with people of all ages, especially young adults and school leavers with SEND and additional learning needs.
  • Commitment to student learning and attainment.
  • Highly organized, proactive, adaptable, and flexible in your approach to work.
  • Excellent interpersonal, motivational, and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
  • Supporting SEND learners in groundwork sessions, including entry-level horticulture, groundwork, and construction activities.
  • Preparing materials, maintaining department facilities, ordering supplies, and supporting trip organization.
  • Assisting with open evenings and tutor meet-and-greet sessions.
  • Supporting staff in preparing learning materials and maintaining facilities, including workshops, outdoor learning spaces, and polytunnels.
  • Collaborating with lecturers to deliver workshops and demonstrations.
