The successful candidate will provide support for Foundation doctors, organize teaching programmes, and liaise with educational stakeholders. We require an enthusiastic person to work with the Medical Education Team in a busy department.
You will provide a pro-active service for Foundation Doctors in Training maintaining the portfolio management of the trainees, providing pastoral support, organising teaching days and the shadowing week.
Good interpersonal skills, the ability to multi-task, work to deadlines and attention to detail are essential; a flexible approach is required which includes working primarily at Basingstoke with occasional working at Winchester.
To be the first point of contact for all foundation doctors
Organise weekly teaching programmes for Foundation Year one & Foundation Year two doctors
Facilitate and organise the Simulation and ALS attendance for all Foundation doctors; ensuring that departments release trainees to attend, trainees are aware of the date they are booked to attend
Maintain detailed attendance records of teaching which contribute to the ARCP process for Foundation Doctors
To develop and maintain communications with stakeholders both internally and externally, ensuring that all communications are cascaded in a timely fashion to the Foundation Programme Director and Medical Education team
Placement and rotational planning for Foundation Doctors, including ensuring the Horus e-portfolio is kept up to date
Lead Administrator for the E-portfolio system for Foundation Doctors
Organise mid term reviews
Provide pastoral support to all foundation doctors
Liaise with NHS England Wessex Foundation School to ensure that the post-holder is fully up-to date with developments locally and nationally with Foundation Training.
Organisation of meetings for Educational & Clinical Supervisors
Co-ordinate the annual induction programme for Foundation year one trainees
Attend ARCPs at least once per year

The Foundation Programme Coordinator is responsible for managing all aspects of Foundation Training, working closely with the Foundation Programme Directors, Director of Medical Education, Medical Education Lead, Deputy Medical Education Lead and Wessex Foundation School to ensure the effective delivery and administration of the Foundation Programme, to the highest quality and standards, in line with the requirements of the GMC, NHSE, Wessex Foundation School and UK Foundation Programme (UKFPO).
The post holder is required to coordinate the clinical placements and allocation of the Educational and Clinical Supervisors to ensure trainees are able to meet the requirements of their curriculum. The post holder is required to monitor trainee progression to ensure compliance with the Foundation Programme. In addition, they will ensure that all Educational Supervisors are familiar with and support the delivery of the programme via the HORUS e-portfolio system.
The post holder will be required to represent the Foundation Programme Director and Medical Education Lead at internal and external Foundation meetings and in their absence communicate information to key stakeholders involved with Foundation Training. The post holder will provide a high level of support to the Medical Education Lead in the delivery of postgraduate Medical Education. The post holder will also organise and facilitate the weekly teaching programme, the annual Foundation Shadowing Programme and ARCP panel members.
