Job summary

Ysgol Bryn Tabor in Wrexham is seeking a Teaching Assistant Apprentice to join their team. You would support teachers and help children with their educational and social development, both inside and outside the classroom, with a focus on the Foundation Phase.

The apprenticeship combines on-the-job learning and off-the-job training, leading to Level 2/3 NVQ in Supporting Teaching and Learning. Applicants should be fluent in Welsh and hold GCSEs in Welsh, English and Maths.

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in Welsh.
• A desire to learn more about becoming a Teaching Assistant.
• Enthusiasm for working with children.
• Minimum A-C GCSE (or equivalent) in Welsh, English and Maths.

Responsibilities

• Supporting learners with their Welsh language and literacy skills
• Supporting pupils with additional learning needs (ALN)
• Supporting pupils with their numeracy, literacy and ICT skills
• Supporting learners across the various areas of the classroom
• Understanding safeguarding and behaviour policies and your role within these policies
• Promoting Welsh culture
• Working with children aged 3-6 within the Foundation Phase
• Supporting the teacher in various classroom roles
• The ability to conduct yourself professionally at all times when working in schools
