Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Foundation Pharmacist to join our Clinical Pharmacy department at The London Clinic, based at our main hospital site in London (W1G 6JA). We are offering a competitive salary range Band 6 NHS equivalent, up to £54,388 per annum dependant on experience.

Job Profile

The Foundation Pharmacist will provide a comprehensive and patient-centered clinical pharmacy service across a range of medical and surgical specialties. Providing dispensary services and undertaking training rotations to develop their skills, alongside the Clinical Pharmacy Diploma.

  • Job Type: This is a full-time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week.

  • Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday 9am-5.30pm

  • Job Location: 20 Devonshire Place, London, W1G 6BW (Close to Regents Park/Baker St tube stations).

  • Salary: Band 6 NHS equivalent

Key Duties

  • Provide a comprehensive and effective patient-centered clinical pharmacy service to designated wards. You will have the opportunity to work in various clinical disciplines including renal/urology, neurosurgery, orthopaedic & spinal surgery, colorectal surgery, gastroenterology, plastics and reconstructive surgery.
  • Develop elements of the clinical pharmacy service to improve the patient experience.
  • Contribute proactively to ensure optimal medicines usage by patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Contribute to ongoing development and service improvements in nursing areas in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Provide appropriate proactive and assimilated medicines information and education to patients, prescribers, and other healthcare staff.

Skills and Experience

  • Computer literate - intermediate level
  • Able to work in a busy department in a methodical and flexible way
  • Able to work alone or in a team across professional boundaries
  • Problem solving.
