Overview

This post will be based at the Aintree site, located in Fazakerley, Liverpool. The post will offer the opportunity for the post holder to gain experience across a range of surgical areas over the 11 month period at Foundation Year 1 level in areas including Emergency General Surgery and Trauma/Orthopaedics. The post holder will participate in the FY1 1:32 Full Shift Rota. The post is not recognised for training and cannot be signed off as achieving Foundation competencies in this post. The post holder will be supported by a Clinical Supervisor and an Educational Supervisor utilising the NHS ePortfolio. Essential courses such as ALERT and ALS may be attended. The post holder will be encouraged to attend departmental teaching for professional development and will have opportunities to acquire skills generic to all doctors.
