Job summary

Remedy Social Work is supporting Surrey County Council to recruit a Qualified Social Worker for the Fostering team on a part-time basis. You will manage complex caseloads, undertake proportionate assessments, and provide guidance and safeguarding when needed.

The role requires robust decision-making, good record-keeping, and collaboration with other agencies. DBS-enhanced disclosure is a requirement, and Remedy will support you throughout the placement.

Qualifications

• Registered social worker with current professional registration.
• Experience in fostering or child protection settings.
• Strong assessment, report writing and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of children, families and carers; identify needs and plan support.
• Use assessment procedures to ensure proportionate assessments and maximum participation.
• Provide information, advice and guidance; signpost to other services.
• Identify safeguarding concerns and plan appropriate actions.
• Share professional knowledge with colleagues and provide supervision where appropriate.
• Maintain clear case notes and data in the council's records in line with data protection policies.
