Job summary

Coventry City Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join its Fostering Team on a temporary basis. You will manage a complex caseload, undertake assessments, and collaborate with families, carers and partner agencies to support children and looked after young people.

The role requires registration with Social Work England, solid safeguarding knowledge, and strong report-writing and court-report preparation skills; flexible working arrangements are available.

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
• Experience in Children's Services, ideally in a Fostering Team.
• Strong assessment, report-writing, and case management skills.
• Ability to work with families, carers and partner agencies.

Responsibilities

• Manage a complex caseload under supervision of a Team Manager.
• Undertake planned and intensive interventions with children, families and carers.
• Work with children in need, child protection, and looked after children.
• Implement, monitor and review care plans with multi-agency input.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, carers and others.
• Liaise with partner agencies to achieve best outcomes for children.
• Prepare and present reports for conferences, court proceedings and panels.
• Maintain accurate case records in line with policies and procedures.
• Contribute to service improvement and performance requirements.
• Engage in continuous professional development and uphold high standards.
