Job summary

Hoop Recruitment Ltd is assisting City of Cardiff Council in recruiting a Fostering Service Manager for Cardiff. You will oversee assessment, approval and support of mainstream, connected and SGO carers, and ensure safeguarding decisions meet statutory requirements.

You will lead the service with experienced social workers and support staff, with hybrid working options from County Hall. Responsibilities include supervising principal social workers, acting as panel advisor to the fostering panel,

Qualifications

• Must have a social work qualification and be registered with Social Care Wales.
• Significant level of skill and experience to manage a service.
• Ability to travel within the Cardiff area and attend in-person meetings, including recruitment activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead assessment, approval, and support of carers and providers.
• Make safe and robust safeguarding decisions in line with statutory requirements.
• Provide leadership of the service and ensure compliance with legislation and good practice.
