Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited is recruiting for a Fostering Service Manager role in Cardiff under a 3‑month local authority contract. Hybrid working is available and you will oversee foster carers, assessments, approvals and ongoing support for various carer categories.

You will provide strategic leadership, ensure safeguarding and governance, and drive improvements in outcomes for children in care.

Qualifications

• Social Work Qualification.
• Registered with Social Care Wales.
• Significant management experience within Children's Social Care or Fostering Services.
• Extensive experience within fostering services.
• Strong knowledge of fostering regulations and child protection.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Foster Wales Cardiff service.
• Provide strategic and operational leadership across fostering functions.
• Ensure high‑quality assessment, approval and support services for carers.
• Lead service development and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with fostering legislation and governance.
