Job summary

Foster Care Associates (The FCA) is seeking a Fostering Service Manager to lead a South West team, partnering with local authorities to deliver high-quality services for looked-after children. You will manage operations, regulatory compliance and financial performance while empowering Foster Parents and staff.

The role requires a recognised social work qualification and SWE registration, strong leadership, and the ability to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Recognised social work qualification and current registration with Social Work England.
• Experience supervising staff and driving development.
• Strong knowledge of fostering legislation, safeguarding and good practice.
• Proven ability to produce clear, analytical reports.
• Flexible to travel with occasional overnight stays; UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a social work team delivering high-quality foster care services.
• Oversee operational, regulatory and financial performance of the service.
• Collaborate with local authorities and external partners to promote the agency.
• Ensure safeguarding standards and continuous improvement in practice.
• Support retention, wellbeing and professional development of staff.
