Job summary

Sanctuary Personnel is recruiting for a Social Worker to join the Fostering/Kinship Team in Darlington. The role offers part-time or full-time hours on an ongoing basis with hybrid working, allowing flexibility between home and office settings.

You will assess foster and kinship arrangements, complete viability and Form K assessments, supervise connected carers, and work with a multidisciplinary team to support children’s safety and permanence.

Responsibilities

• Assess and supervise kinship and fostering arrangements, primarily within Darlington, with occasional national assessments as required.
• Complete viability assessments and Form K assessments to support informed decision-making and positive outcomes for children.
• Supervise Connected Foster Carers, providing advice, guidance, and support to maintain high standards of care.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with children, families, carers, and partner agencies.
• Promote the safety, wellbeing, and permanence of children within fostering and kinship placements.
• Prepare clear, accurate, and professional reports and assessments.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and partner organisations to achieve the best outcomes for children.
• Manage responsibilities effectively within a hybrid working model.
