Job Title: Fostering Assessment & Supervising Social Worker

Location: Knowlesey
Contract: 3-Month Initial Contract (with potential extension)
Hours: 36 hours per week (Flexible & Hybrid Working)
Rate: £29.77 per hour

About the Role

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Social Worker to join our fostering team in Knowlesey. This is a wonderful opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families, supporting them through the fostering process and ensuring every child has the chance to thrive in a safe, nurturing home.

As a Fostering Assessment and Supervising Social Worker, you’ll play a vital role in helping us maintain the highest standards of care and compliance, carrying out high-quality assessments and supporting carers to meet the needs of children in line with Fostering Regulations and the National Minimum Standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake a range of fostering assessments, including:

    • Friends and Family Viability Assessments

    • Form K Assessments

    • Mainstream Initial Visit Assessments

    • Form F Assessments

  • Provide timely, comprehensive, and analytical reports that contribute to strong, evidence-based recommendations.

  • Work closely with families, prospective carers, and children to ensure their voices are heard and respected throughout the process.

  • Support and supervise foster carers to develop their skills and confidence in providing quality care.

  • Collaborate with colleagues, professionals, and partner agencies to promote the best outcomes for children.

  • Maintain accurate, detailed records in line with statutory requirements and local policies.

About You

You’ll be a qualified and registered Social Worker (SWE) with experience in fostering assessments and a strong understanding of fostering legislation, safeguarding, and child development. You’ll bring warmth, professionalism, and excellent communication skills to every interaction, and you’ll be confident working independently as well as part of a supportive team.

We value flexibility and trust — you’ll have the option to work both from home and in the office, with an expectation of being on-site at least 3 days per week, depending on the needs of the service.
