Job summary

167 Solutions Ltd is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to work from Bristol, London, or Manchester on a permanent basis. This hands-on role bridges cutting-edge AI technology with real-world business challenges, delivering production-ready AI solutions quickly, and shaping enterprise AI deployments.

You will collaborate with customers, engineering teams, and stakeholders to design scalable backend services in TypeScript on AWS, integrate LLMs and vector databases, and help drive best practices

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of commercial software engineering experience.
• Strong TypeScript experience.
• Experience building/deploying applications on AWS.
• Hands-on Generative AI development with modern LLMs.
• Understanding of AI architecture, APIs, and distributed systems.
• Experience with structured and unstructured data.
• Ability to prototype rapidly in fast-moving environments.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Strong communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Comfort working in ambiguous environments and owning projects end-to-end.
• Nice to have: Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
• Nice to have: vector databases and semantic search.
• Nice to have: Python alongside TypeScript.
• Nice to have: LangChain/LangGraph or similar.
• Nice to have: CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and containerization.

• We are looking for a highly technical, customer-focused engineer with a minimum of 3 years commercial experience.
