Job summary

Barings is seeking a Forward Deployed AI Engineer in London to embed with Investment, Client & Supporting teams. You will scope, prototype and ship production-grade AI solutions across automation, workflow orchestration and client tooling, using AI-native platforms and strong software engineering practices.

The role combines asset-management domain knowledge with hands-on AI development, requiring the ability to distill complex problems, write production code, and mentor teams on responsible AI

Qualifications

• Software engineering with active use of AI-native development tools.
• Proficiency with Claude or GitHub Copilot.
• Hands-on LLM integration experience.
• Familiarity with MCP, REST APIs and microservices architecture.
• Cloud platform experience and enterprise AI tooling.

Responsibilities

• Understand business problems and design AI-powered solutions.
• Prototype, validate with business and ship production-grade code.
• Build integrations and connectors to data sources and document systems.
• Deliver end-to-end using AI-native tooling across design, testing and documentation.
• Own engagements and manage stakeholder relationships.
• Provide enablement via training, office hours and demos.
