Job summary

Stott and May is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to join a fast-growing applied AI company. The role involves direct client engagement in Cambridge, delivering end-to-end AI-powered solutions and owning client engagements from discovery to delivery.

You will work across the full lifecycle, from understanding client needs to building and deploying solutions, with opportunities to grow into a delivery leadership role as the team scales.

Qualifications

• 1+ years’ experience in a professional engineering environment.
• Strong full-stack software engineering fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience with applied AI, LLMs or modern AI tooling.
• Confidence presenting and working directly with clients.
• Comfortable working through ambiguity and solving undefined problems.
• Independent, creative and commercially curious.
• Able to travel to Cambridge and client sites when required.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with clients to uncover operational challenges.
• Identify where AI can genuinely improve workflows.
• Build full-stack applications, integrations, agents and AI tools.
• Present solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Train users and drive adoption across client organisations.
• Support discovery, sales and ongoing client delivery.
• Work across different stacks depending on the client environment.
