Job summary

The Best Connection Bedford is recruiting a Production/Forklift Operative to join their friendly team.

Candidates should have labouring and production experience and hold a valid 5 tonne Counterbalance licence.

Shifts are Monday to Thursday, 06:00–18:00. Rate is £15.00 per hour with overtime at £20.19 after 46 hours. You will operate production equipment and the Counterbalance forklift while maintaining high safety standards.

Qualifications

• Previous labouring and production experience.
• Must hold a valid in-date 5 tonne Counterbalance forklift licence.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather and to rotate days/nights.

Responsibilities

• Operate production equipment to manufacture building/landscaping materials.
• Move stock around yard using Counterbalance forklift.
• Perform quality checks and report concerns to production manager.

The Best Connection Bedford are partnered with one of the UKs leading manufacturers and supplier of building and landscaping materials and are recruiting for a Production/Forklift Operative to join their Friendly team.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates who have previous labouring and production experience, candidates who hold a valid, in date, 5 tonne Counterbalance licence is essential as the role will involve moving building/landscaping materials around the yard.

Shift Pattern: Monday - Thursday 06:00-18:00, Pay rate is £15.00 per hour, Overtime is paid at £20.19 per hour for overtime worked after 46 hours.

Requirements of the job:

• Work collaboratively with the production team to achieve production targets
• Carry out quality control checks on products as directed and report any concerns to the production manager
• Manual Handling, Heavy lifting and working outside in all weather are a requirement of this role.
• Commit to working rotating shift pattern of Days/Nights
• Follow all health and safety protocol at all times, reporting any concerns/incidents to management
• Forklift operatives will need to hold an accredited, valid, in date 5 tonne Counterbalance licence.
• Be able to commute to shift location

Responsibilities of the job:

• Operate production equipment and machinery to produce building/landscaping materials
• Carry out yard/production site and warehouse housekeeping as required
• Complete any health and safety checks and record keeping as required
• Ensure all duties/tasks are carried out to required standards and production targets are achieved
• Operate Counterbalance Forklift to move stock and equipment safely around the yard/production site
