Job summary

Acorn by Synergie is seeking an experienced Forklift Warehouse Operative for our Newton Abbot site. You will operate a counterbalance forklift, move stock across multiple warehouse areas, and support production with timely material supplies.

You will perform routine safety checks and maintain accurate stock records using a WMS. The role runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am-5pm, on a temporary contract with weekly pay and onsite parking.

Qualifications

• Experience operating a Counterbalance forklift.
• Familiarity with a Warehouse Management System (WMS) or stock control software.
• Understanding of stock control processes and accuracy in recording movements.
• Strong commitment to health and safety in a warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Counterbalance Forklift safely to load/unload and move materials.
• Sort, stack and store stock and pallets per procedures.
• Provide materials to production and other departments promptly.
• Carry out daily forklift checks and report faults.
• Record stock movements accurately in the WMS.
• Perform stock counts and help investigate discrepancies.
• Ensure safe handling, storage and transport of goods.

Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting an experienced Forklift Warehouse Operative to join a well-established manufacturing business in Newton Abbot.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Warehouse Operative, Counterbalance Forklift Driver, FLT Driver, Forklift Truck Driver, Warehouse Assistant, or Logistics Operative to become part of a busy warehouse team. Working across multiple on-site warehouse facilities, you will play a key role in goods in, goods out, stock control, and material handling, ensuring production is supplied efficiently while maintaining high standards of safety, accuracy, and organisation.

Key Duties

• Operate a Counterbalance Forklift Truck to safely load, unload, and transport materials across multiple warehouse buildings.
• Move, stack, and store stock and pallets in accordance with warehouse procedures.
• Supply materials to production and other departments in a timely manner.
• Complete daily forklift and equipment safety checks, reporting any defects or maintenance requirements.
• Record stock movements accurately using the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
• Carry out stock checks and inventory counts, assisting with the investigation of stock discrepancies.
• Ensure stock is stored, handled, and transported safely and securely.
• Support site waste and recycling activities in line with environmental procedures.
• Maintain high standards of warehouse housekeeping and organisation.
• Assist production, maintenance, and other departments with operational tasks when required.
• Follow all health and safety procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and company policies.

Requirements

• Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Previous experience as a Warehouse Operative, Counterbalance Forklift Driver, FLT Driver, Forklift Truck Driver, Warehouse Assistant, or Logistics Operative.
• Experience using a Warehouse Management System (WMS) or computerised stock control system.
• Good attention to detail and accurate record-keeping skills.
• Physically fit and comfortable lifting items of up to approximately 20kg.
• Positive, flexible attitude with the ability to work across different departments.
• Strong commitment to health and safety and safe working practices.
• Reach Truck or Narrow Aisle Forklift Licence.
• Experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
