Job summary

George Lines is looking for a practical, hands-on team player to keep the yard moving and deliver for customers. You will handle loading/unloading, keep stock well-organised and support branch operations with a strong safety focus.

The role includes occasional local 3.5t deliveries, daily checks, and reporting defects. A forklift licence and a full UK driving licence are essential, with preference for builders’ merchant experience.

Qualifications

• Forklift licence is required or essential.
• Full, clean UK driving licence required.
• Experience in a builders’ merchant environment (preferred).
• Positive, can-do attitude with strong customer service focus.
• Physically fit and able to perform manual handling.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Pick loads and load/unload vehicles safely and efficiently.

• Report health & safety concerns promptly.

What you’ll be doing

• Making local deliveries in a 3.5t vehicle when required.

What we’re looking for

• Forklift licence and experience operating a forklift.
• Full, clean UK driving licence.
• Experience working in a builders’ merchant environment (preferred).
• A positive, can-do attitude and a strong focus on customer service.
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling.
• Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Good attention to detail and awareness of safety procedures.
• Eligible to work in the UK.

Please note: due to the branch location, you will need your own reliable transport.
