Job description

Overview

Vacancy: We are looking to recruit a new Forklift Truck Operator. The successful candidate will work closely with the Stores Manager and Team Leader. The role is onsite working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday, 7.30am – 4pm, £13 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the flow of materials to the shop floor
• Accurate and detailed picking of parts and placing in designated area/receptacle
• Taking parts and consumables to the designated fitting area
• To carry out physical stock counting to ensure stock levels are maintained
• To assist with quarterly stock takes as requested by your Team Leader
• Ensure high standard of housekeeping in storage areas
• Provision of counter service to Fitters
• Ensure high value items are stored securely
• Ensure all parts/products are available to fitters
• Responsibility for the maintenance of quarantine area and all returns working with your Team Leader
• Safe loading of racks and racking equipment
• All yard housekeeping
• Safe operation of vehicle movements on site
• Coordination of deliveries to TGS

Qualifications / Requirements

• Current counterbalance/bendi licence
• Prior experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting
• Familiarity with materials handling techniques and best practices
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while adhering to safety protocols
• Experience with shipping and receiving processes is a plus
• Full driving licence is a plus
• Good stores keeping experience
• Keep items in the correct place
• Checking in deliveries and checking for any damage
