Excellent opportunity for a Forklift Truck Field Service Engineer to join a well-established company based in Washington, Tyne & Wear.

Salary: £35,139 - £38,409 plus overtime paid at x 1.5 and annual profit related bonus

Job Type: Full Time / Permanent

Due to expansion and increased productivity, the company is looking for a Forklift Truck Field Service Engineer to join their team.

The company has been established for 30 years and provides the sales service and hire of Materials Handling solutions throughout the North of England. They have an excellent reputation for high-quality levels of service and customer care, providing local service to international standards.

This job offers the opportunity for an exciting role within a progressive local company working with and supporting international manufacturers.

If You:
  1. Are a time served tradesman in the engineering sector with minimum NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualifications
  2. Are skilled in mechanical and/or electrical engineering
  3. Have the ability to develop and maintain customer relationships to provide excellent customer care
  4. Have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  5. Have a positive and can-do attitude
  6. Have a full UK driving License

While previous experience working with forklift trucks would be an advantage, it is not a necessity. We are interested in applications from candidates with a variety of backgrounds such as Material Handling, Armed Forces/REME, Plant, Access, Agriculture, Vehicle mechanics or HGV/LGV.

The Role:

As a key member of the team, you will be working as a Forklift Field Service Engineer to provide repair and maintenance of Electric, LPG, and Diesel forklifts and other material handling equipment.

Key tasks include:
  1. Managing workload and prioritising jobs according to customer demands and company targets
  2. Carrying out effective preventative maintenance to minimise unplanned breakdowns
  3. Carrying out fault diagnosis and repairs on mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems efficiently and effectively
  4. Completion and provision of company documentation and records as required by the company management system
  5. Communicating with customers to agree remedial actions where necessary
  6. Using Laptop and PDA to identify parts required and communicate requirements to the office team
Hours Of Work:

Monday to Friday 8.00am to 5.00pm (Door to Door)

Out of hours call support (Rota system - paid in addition to salary)

Remuneration Package:
  1. Generous salary between £35,139 and £38,409
  2. Door to Door payment
  3. Overtime available paid at x 1.5
