Forklift Truck Engineer

Salary:£32,000 to £42,000 + Overtime (Time and a Half Monday to Saturday, Double Time on Sundays and Bank Holidays)

OTE:£45,000 - £50,000

Location:Biggleswade

  • 40 Hours per Week (Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm)

The Role:

As a Forklift Truck Engineer, you will be based on-site at the client's location and responsible for the reactive and preventative maintenance of their fleet of material handling equipment. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Diagnosing and resolving technical issues to ensure equipment operates at optimum efficiency
  • Conducting preventative maintenance across the fleet
  • Updating preventative maintenance schedules and records on the CMMS
  • Liaising with customer stakeholders to provide updates on breakdowns, fleet availability, and reliability
  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders and delivering exceptional customer service

The Candidate:

We are recruiting for multiple positions at different levels. To qualify for the upper salary range, you must have experience working onforklift trucks. We will also consider candidates with the following:

  • Experience with any form of motorized vehicle (including vehicle technicians, forklift technicians, plant fitters, plant technicians, or field service engineers)
  • Strong mechanical skills
  • Experience with plant equipment, powered access equipment, agricultural machinery, motor vehicles, or industrial cleaners is highly desirable
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) qualification is ideal, but not essential
  • Must be computer literate
  • Good communication skills as you will be in a client-facing role
  • Comfortable working both autonomously and as part of a team
