Job description

Are you looking for an exciting new challenge with one of the world's leading providers of diesel and gas engines? Randstad at Perkins would love to hear from you!

An ongoing position is available in our Logistics team as a FLT operative with some administrative duties.

The first 12 weeks training period will be paid at 12.31 per hour. Will then increase to standard rate.

13.94 per hour after 12 weeks training

Hours of work and salary:

  • Monday to Thursday, 07:30AM - 16:30PM (37 hours per week)
  • Dependent on experience and overtime where available
  • Overtime available for any work on Fridays where available
  • Sunday would be paid at premium overtime rates!

Responsibilities:

  • Warehouse duties to include picking, packing and scanning parts within a warehouse/stores environment.
  • Operating various types of MHE including Counterbalance FLT, Aisle Masters, LLOP and Kalmar.
  • Prioritising Health and Safety by ensuring the use of correct PPE, following documented site practices and maintaining a 'See something, Say Something' approach.
  • Ensuring that no defect is passed forward, raising Quality issues in a timely fashion while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Adhering to time restraints to exceed both internal and external customer requirements.
  • Some manual lifting will be required.
  • Data Management Duties including Data Collection and use of In-house systems.
  • Complete necessary administration tasks relating to audits.
  • Ensure completion of required audit schedules to meet deadlines.
  • Running reports.
  • As a valued team member, you will be expected to work individually and as part of a team.

Requirements:

  • Previous MHE experience required. An RTITB or ITSAAR accredited licence preferred but in-house licences with the above Certified Trainer also accepted.
  • Some previous Operating Systems experience is preferred but not essential as all training will be given.
  • Motivation, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn. The successful candidate will have the drive to achieve targets and take the customer's view.
  • An understanding of safe working practices - adhering to Health & Safety and Environmental requirements.
  • Great attention to detail and a desire to solve problems.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
