Job summary

First Call Contract Services, Ltd. is recruiting a Material Supply Operative with a reach truck licence to join a fast-paced food production site in Newmarket. The role focuses on hygiene, stocking materials and supporting production operations.

You will carry out pre-start checks, monitor pallet levels, ensure PPE availability, manage waste and assist with continuous improvement under safety rules. Shift 14:00–22:00, Mon–Fri, £14.81 per hour with overtime.

Qualifications

• Experience in a food production/manufacturing environment.
• Strong teamwork abilities and attention to detail.
• Experience using Defacto or similar booking systems is advantageous.
• Valid reach truck and pedestrian truck licences.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily pre-start inspections of the yard.
• Monitor and maintain pallet levels within the production area.
• Ensure changing rooms are stocked with appropriate PPE.
• Replenish washing stations with soap, sanitiser and hand towels.
• Sort uniform deliveries and manage distribution.
• Dispose of waste correctly and sort into skips/compactors.
• Operate the cardboard bailer and flatten/cardboard as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of yards and surrounding areas.
• Follow health and safety regulations including COSHH.
• Wear required PPE and ensure personal hygiene standards.
• Report hazards and defects to the Team Leader.
• Label products and racks for traceability.
• Complete paperwork accurately and promptly.
• Support safety, quality and efficiency improvements.
