Job Title: Forklift Engineer Fitter

Location: Kingston upon Hull, Yorkshire, Goole, Scunthorpe, Grimsby, Beverley, Hornsea

Salary: £36,000 Basic, £50,000 with Overtime

Job Description:

Established engineering firm is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Forklift Engineer / Fitter. Your role will involve the full repair, refurbishment, and maintenance of heavy-handling machinery, with experience across various engineering disciplines, including mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Repair and Refurbishment: Fully repair and refurbish forklifts and other heavy-handling equipment, working both in workshops and on-site.
  2. Diagnostics: Use schematic drawings and machine manuals to diagnose and identify faults, ensuring all machinery is in optimal working condition.
  3. Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance tasks, including servicing, part replacements, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
  1. Level 3 Qualification in Engineering or equivalent.
  2. Experience as a Forklift Engineer Fitter with at least 3 years in mechanical engineering, especially forklift repair.
  3. Proficient in using mechanical power tools, workshop machinery, and capable of working offsite with minimal equipment.
  4. Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, with the ability to identify and repair faulty components.
  5. Compliance with health and safety regulations.
  6. Valid Driving License.

This role is suitable for individuals currently working as Forklift Engineer Fitter, Dock Equipment Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, or Vehicle Mechanic, living within a commutable distance of Kingston upon Hull, Yorkshire, Goole, Scunthorpe, Grimsby, Beverley, Hornsea, or willing to relocate.
