Job summary

First Military Recruitment is seeking a Forklift Engineer to service and repair forklift trucks and related lifting equipment. The role covers routine maintenance, oil and fuel checks, hose inspections, steering and brake checks, and liaising with customers about requirements.

The successful candidate will act as the company face on site, with a company van and fuel card for field service. Ex-military candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering background required.
• Able to work independently or in a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Experience with forklift trucks, military, agricultural or plant equipment is desirable.
• Full UK driving licence.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out routine maintenance and repairs to long/short term machines and customers owned equipment. Ensuring best practice with quality and professionalism are met at all times and to maintain customer satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Servicing and repair of forklift trucks and other lifting equipment.
• Carrying out routine maintenance.
• Checking oil and fuel levels.
• Checking all related hoses and connections.
• Steering and brake checks.
• Liaising with customers regarding their individual requirements.
• Submit accurate parts requisition information to Head Office.
• Acting as the face of the company and therefore acting as a brand ambassador.

Skills and Qualifications:

• A good mechanical engineering background is essential.
• Ability to work as part of a team or on an individual basis where required.
• Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.
• Experience with forklift trucks, military, agricultural or plant equipment is highly desirable.
• Full UK driving licence.
