Job summary

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Forklift Engineer in Luton on behalf of one of our clients. The successful candidate will service and repair forklift trucks and other lifting equipment, perform routine maintenance, liaise with customers to meet their requirements, check oil and fuel levels, hoses and connections, and carry out steering and brake checks.

Ex-military applicants are strongly encouraged, though all candidates will be considered.

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering background required.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
• Forklift, military, agricultural or plant equipment experience desirable.
• Full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and repairing forklift trucks and lifting equipment.
• Carrying out routine maintenance.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out routine maintenance and repairs to long/short term machines and customers owned equipment. Ensuring best practice with quality and professionalism are met at all times and to maintain customer satisfaction.

• Servicing and repair of forklift trucks and other lifting equipment.
• Carrying out routine maintenance.

• Acting as the face of the company and therefore acting as a brand ambassador.

Skills and Qualifications:

• A good mechanical engineering background is essential.
• Ability to work as part of a team or on an individual basis where required.
• Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.
• Experience with forklift trucks, military, agricultural or plant equipment is highly desirable.
• Full UK driving licence.
