Job description

What will I be doing?

You will operate a counterbalance forklift truck to both feed the raw material and load out the sorted bales of recovered material.

This role involves:

  • You will operate the production equipment and carry out quality sampling checks.
  • You will assist with the resolution of plant stoppages / blockages.
  • You will carry out housekeeping duties in line with our 5’s lean objectives.
  • Reporting to the Team Leader, you will be involved with the day-to-day recycling operations at our customers sites in the Poole or Portland region.
  • Under the direction of management, you will ensure compliance with relevant legislation, health and safety issues and company policies.
  • You will work with our customers to maximise reduce, reuse and recycle of waste materials produced at the site.
  • You will control the exchange of containers by booking loads with the relevant person, thus ensuring the site always has space to segregate and store material correctly.
  • You will maintain a safe and tidy site within your areas of responsibility.
  • Any other duties that are reasonably requested within the scope of the job-role

What are the requirements?

  • You must hold an RTITB or ITSSAR credited Counterbalance license
  • Previous Counterbalance experience would be desirable

Other requirements include:

  • We are looking for an enthusiastic team player, who will be expected to join the current site team to ensure site operations exceed the standards required.
  • An excellent level of customer service and teamwork is a key part of this role.
  • A flexible approach to work will be advantageous as you will be expected to cover holiday and sick days if required.
  • A safety conscious person with the desire to develop and embrace change to promote continuous improvement.
  • Previous experience within the waste industry or other high-volume production processes is an advantage, but not a necessity (training will be given).
