Job Description

This role offers £12.70 per hour, with 23 days holiday plus 7 Bank Holidays and your birthday off. The company provides a pension scheme and opportunities for career progression within a supportive, family-run business.

Responsibilities include:

  • Picking and assembling loads for delivery and collection, ensuring accuracy from a picking list.
  • Loading and unloading vehicles, verifying goods against paperwork, in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Safeguarding stock from damage and loss, managing stock rotation for products with limited shelf life.
  • Adhering to company policies and procedures, contributing positively to the team and customer service levels.
  • Performing reasonable requests from management.

The working hours are from 08:00 to 17:00 Monday to Friday, and 08:00 to 12:00 on Saturdays on a 1-in-3 rota, with occasional shift pattern changes as required.

Required Skills
  • Counterbalance forklift license is essential; training for other FLTs will be provided.
  • Experience in a builders' merchant environment is preferred.
  • Positive, supportive attitude and self-motivated with initiative.
  • Team player with excellent attention to detail and numeracy skills.
  • Physical fitness for manual handling tasks.
