Job description

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a skilled Forklift Operator. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to operate forklifts safely and efficiently. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth movement of materials and products within the plant site. Based in Stanton By Dale

Duties-

  • Operate forklifts to load and unload materials from lorries and storage areas.
  • Handle heavy lifting and transport materials throughout the plant as required.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
  • Conduct routine inspections of forklifts and other equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Assist in the plant with various duties as required

What we are looking for -

  • Proven experience in forklift operation, with relevant certification preferred.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge related to warehouse equipment and machinery.
  • Familiarity with materials handling processes
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in managing inventory.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective teamwork.
  • Previous experience in shipping and receiving roles is beneficial but not essential.

  • Working mainly days Monday to Friday (7am start). Some afternoon shifts may be required
  • Pay rate £13.45 - £15.38 (afternoons)
