Job Title: Forklift Driver

Job Description:

Within the construction environment, your responsibilities will include purchasing materials, managing large projects, ensuring health and safety compliance, and providing excellent customer service. Our projects range from new builds on brownfield sites to adapting existing structures such as factories and hospitals across the UK.

We seek individuals who can bring innovative ideas and demonstrate strong management skills in people, budgets, and costs. Our construction teams have been recognized with numerous NHBC Pride in the Job Awards for their professionalism.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with the Site Manager regarding any changes to the construction schedule.
  • Report shortages of materials like blocks, bricks, and silo mix to avoid delays.
  • Check deliveries for quality and quantity, record any issues with the Materials Controller.
  • Store and label materials correctly, ensuring proper site storage.
  • Manage waste by loading materials into the correct skips.
  • Report damaged or defective materials to the Site Manager or Assistant.
  • Inspect and maintain the forklift daily, record inspections in the Plant Register.
  • Ensure the forklift and attachments are clean, roadworthy, and regularly maintained.
  • Follow safety protocols at all times and report issues promptly.
  • Ensure safe loading practices, including platform loadings and gate closures.
  • Perform labouring duties as required.
Requirements:
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative.
  • Experience on large domestic house-building sites.
  • Valid FLT license and a full UK driving license.
  • Health and Safety awareness.
  • Current CSCS or partner scheme card.
