Job description
Overview

Contract Personnel are currently recruiting for General Operatives/Fork Lift Drivers based in the outskirts of Norwich. Own transport is essential due to site location.

Please note: We are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position. Applicants must have the legal right to live and work in the UK at the time of application.

Responsibilities
  • Forklift Operations: Safely operate a counterbalance forklift to load/unload deliveries, move metal products, and supply materials to production areas.
  • Manual Handling: Assist in the preparation, hanging, and movement of metal parts through various coating and finishing stages.
  • General Labouring: Support production tasks such as masking, jigging, packing, wrapping, and basic assembly work.
  • Quality Control: Check items for defects or coating quality and report any issues to the team leader.
  • Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and safe working environment, including sweeping, waste disposal, and equipment care.
  • Health & Safety: Adhere to all site safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
  • Any other duties as required.
Requirements
  • Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence (RTITB or ITSSAR recognised) – essential.
  • Previous experience in a production, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
  • Basic understanding of metalwork or coating processes (preferred but not essential).
  • Physically fit and able to lift and handle metal components.
  • Good attention to detail and awareness of health & safety procedures.
  • Shift pattern: Monday to Friday, 22:00 - 06:00.
