Job summary

Persimmon Homes is seeking an experienced Fork Lift Driver for an on-site role at Crossgates, KY4. You will report to the Site Manager and handle day-to-day lifting, delivery receipts, stacking, and storage of materials while ensuring strict health and safety standards.

The ideal candidate holds a full UK driving licence, a CPCS card, forklift experience in a similar environment, and a willingness to work as part of a team to meet deadlines. First Aid at Work is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must hold a full and current UK Driving Licence.
• Hold a CPCS card prior to commencing.
• Experience operating a forklift in a similar environment is essential.
• First Aid at Work certificate preferred but not essential.
• Ability to work as part of a team and meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the forklift and operate it safely.
• Prioritise health & safety in all duties.
• Manage vehicle access and traffic on site per scheme.
• Receive, check, sign for, stack and store materials.
• Secure the site at the end of the day.
• Keep roads clean and free of mud or debris.
• Complete tasks under direction of the Site Manager.

What is the role?

We are recruiting for an experienced Forklift Truck Driver to join our Onsite Team. This role reports into the Site Manager and will be responsible for dealing with a range of day-to-day activities on a regional development.

What you’ll do as a Fork Lift Driver

• Maintenance of the Forklift
• Abide by and ensure Health & Safety is paramount in your duties for yourself and others
• Ensure visiting goods vehicles follow approved traffic management scheme
• To take delivery, sign for, check, receipt, stack and storage of materials
• Responsible for the security of the site at the end of the day
• Ensure all roads are kept clean and clear of mud/debris
• Tasks to be completed under the direction of the Site Manager

What experience do I need?

• Must have a full and current UK Driving Licence
• Hold relevant CPCS card prior to commencing
• Experience of operating a forklift within a similar environment essential
• A valid First Aid at Work certificate would be preferable but not essential
• The ability to work, thrive on and meet tight deadlines as part of a team
