A leading aerospace manufacturer in Leicester seeks a Forging Manufacturing Engineer. You will report to the Engineering Manager, overseeing processes and ensure conformity to operation drawings. The role requires a minimum of 3 years of forging experience, knowledge of hydraulic presses, and a preferred understanding of SolidCAM. About the job
You will report directly to the Engineering Manager working collaboratively to support active projects. Working as a team within the business, your focus will be to standardise best practice, implementing SOP’s for all equipment allowing operators to systematically execute a right first-time approach.
You will oversee and ensure all parts conform to the operation drawings performing periodic spot check at intervals throughout the working day.
You will be required to support all associates in the forging department regarding operator training along with additional support to imbed new methods and processes.
What will you be doing?
A change to the normal processes maybe required, but you will be the catalyst of how we implement and embed change.
When scoping out new projects you will challenge the status quo and propose alternative solutions with a mindset to always to standardise and simplify processes.
As a Forge Manufacturing Engineer, you would be expected to have knowledge of the below requirements.
You will have at least 3 years prior forging experience.
Hydraulic presses
Flywheel presses
Slitting machines
Coatings
Induction heating
Tool design – preferred knowledge of SolidCAM
Have worked with Nickel alloy materials
